Lefeld, Jerzy Albert
Lefeld, Jerzy Albert, Polish pianist, composer, and pedagogue; b. Warsaw, Jan. 17, 1898; d. there, Feb. 22, 1980. He studied piano with Michalowski and composition with Statkowski at the Warsaw Cons., and in 1918 joined its faculty. He became known principally as a fine piano accompanist. His own compositions include 2 syms., a String Sextet, piano pieces, and songs.
