Lídl, Václav, Czech composer; b. Brno, Nov. 5, 1922. He studied with Kvapil at the Brno Cons., graduating in 1948. In addition to writing numerous film scores, he also composed 4 syms. (1965, 1974, 1975, 1979), Radostná predehra for Orch. (1981), Balada o červnovém ránu (Lidice 1942) for Orch. (1982), Serenade for Orch. (1982), chamber music, and choral works.
