Micheli, Domenico
Micheli, Domenico, Italian priest and composer; b. Bologna, c. 1540; d. probably there, c. 1590. He received training at S. Petronio in Bologna. He was maestro di cappella at Udine Cathedral in 1567 and was in the service of the Malvasia family in Cesena in 1577. From 1581 to 1588 he was in the service of the Innocenzo Malvasia in Ravenna. Returning to Bologna, he became singing master (1588) and maestro di cappella (1589) at S. Pietro. Micheli was an accomplished madrigalist and publ. 6 vols, of such works in Venice (1564–84).
