Osten, Eva Plaschke von der (b Heligoland, 1881; d Dresden, 1936). Ger. soprano. Début Dresden 1902 as Urbain in Les Huguenots. Prin. sop., Dresden Opera, 1902–27. Created role of Oktavian in Der Rosenkavalier 1911. Was first Dresden Ariadne, Dyer's Wife (Die Frau ohne Schatten), and Kundry (Parsifal). Member Ger. Opera Co., USA, 1923–4. After retirement became prod. at Dresden. Wife of Friedrich Plaschke (1875–1951), bass-bar. at Dresden and later stage dir.
