Ozim, Igor
Ozim, Igor, Slovenian violinist and teacher; b. Ljubljana, May 9,1931. He studied with Leon Pfeifer at the Ljubljana Academy of Music and with Rostal in London (1949–51), then won the Flesch (1951) and Munich (1953) competitions. He toured widely in Europe and the U.S.; also taught at the Ljubljana Academy of Music (1960–63) and then at the Cologne Hochschule für Musik. In 1990 he served on the jury of the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. He was a notable advocate of contemporary music.
