Palkovský, Oldřich
Palkovský, Oldřich, Czech composer, father of Pavel Palkovský; b. Brušperk, Feb. 24,1907; d. Gottwal-dov, March 15, 1983. He studied with Petrželka at the Brno Cons. (1925–31) and Suk at the Prague Cons. (1931–33). He was director of the State Testing Commission for Music (1939–54), and taught at the Kromriz branch of the Brno Cons. (1950–67).
