Polignac, Armande de , French composer; b. Paris, Jan. 8, 1876; d. Neauphle-le-Vieux, Seine-et-Oise, April 29, 1962. She studied with Fauré and d’Indy. She composed the operas Morgane and L’Hypocrite sanctifie, Judith de Béthulie, dramatic scene (Paris, March 23, 1916), La Source lointaine, Persian ballet (Paris, 1913), Les 2, 002 Nuits, Arabian ballet (Paris, 1914), Chimères, Greek ballet (Paris, June 10, 1923), Urashima, Japanese ballet, La Recherche de la verité, Chinese ballet for Small Orch., and Petite suite pour le clavecin (1939).
