Pone, Miroslav , Czech violinist, conductor, and composer; b. Vysoké Mýto, Dec. 2, 1902; d. Prague, April 1, 1976. He studied organ with Wiedermann at the Prague Cons. (1920–22) and composition with Alois Há;ba there (1922–23; 1925–27).; went to Berlin and took lessons with Schoenberg. Upon returning to Prague, he studied violin with Suk at the Cons., graduating in 1930, and attended the quarter tone composition class of Hába, graduating in 1935; also took lessons in conducting with Scherchen in Strasbourg (1933). After World War II, he was active mainly as a theater conductor in Prague. He wrote a number of scores of incidental music for plays.
