Potiron, Henri
Potiron, Henri , French musicologist and composer; b. Rezé-lès-Nantes, Sept. 13, 1882; d. Roye, April 12, 1972. He settled in Paris and became a teacher at the Institut Grégorien in 1923, and also served as music director at Sacré-Coeur de Montmarte. In 1954 he took his Ph.D. at the Sorbonne with the diss. Boèce, théoricien de la musique grecque (publ. in Paris, 1954). Among his compositions were masses, motets, and organ pieces.
