Preumayr , German-born Swedish family of musicians, all brothers:

(1) Johan Conrad Preumayr , bassoonist; b. Koblenz, Dec. 1775; d. Stockholm, March 20, 1819. He was a bassoonist in the royal orch. in Stockholm from 1811.

(2) Carl Josef Preumayr , bass, actor, cellist, and bassoonist; b. Koblenz, July 2, 1780; d. Stockholm, July 20, 1849. He appeared as a bass and an actor at the Royal Theater in Stockholm, where he became known for his portrayals of Osmin, the Commendatore, and Sarastro. He also was a cellist and bassoonist in the royal orch. in Stockholm.

(3) Frans Carl Preumayr , bassoonist; b. Ehrenbretstein, April 24, 1782; d. Stockholm, Feb. 15, 1853. He was principal bassoonist in the royal orch. in Stockholm. In 1830 he made a highly successful tour of Europe as a virtuoso.
