Ránki, Dezső

Ránki, Dezső , Hungarian pianist; b. Budapest, Sept. 8, 1951. He studied piano with Klára Máthé at the Bartók Cons. (1964–69) and at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music with Pál Kadosa and Ferenc Rados (1969–73). In 1969 he won the International Schumann Competition in Zwickau, and from that time toured with notable success. His repertoire encompasses the classics and the moderns. He particularly excels in the Works of Béla Bartók.
