Saint-Foix, (Marie-Olivier-) Georges (du Parc Poulain), Comte de
Saint-Foix, (Marie-Olivier-) Georges (du Parc Poulain), Comte de , eminent French musicologist; b. Paris, March 2, 1874; d. Aix-en-Provence, May 26, 1954. He studied law at the Sorbonne and concurrently attended classes in theory with d’Indy and had violin lessons (diploma, 1906) at the Schola Can-torum in Paris. His principal, and most important, publ. was Wolfgang-Amédée Mozart, sa vie musicale et son oeuvre, de l’enfance à la pleine maturité (5 vols., Paris, 1912–46; vols. 1–2 with T. de Wyzewa); also publ. Les Symphonies de Mozart (Paris, 1932; second ed., 1948; Eng. tr., London, 1947).
