Sánchez de Fuentes, Eduardo
Sánchez de Fuentes, Eduardo , important Cuban composer and educator; b. Havana, April 3, 1874; d. there, Sept. 7, 1944. He studied music with Ignacio Cervantes and Carlos Anckermann. He occupied an influential position in the artistic affairs of Cuba. He wrote 5 operas and many other works, but is known outside Cuba chiefly by his popular song Tú, which he publ. at the age of 18.
