Schmitt, Camille
Schmitt, Camille, Belgian organist, pedagogue, and composer; b. Aubange, March 30, 1908; d. Limelette, May 11, 1976. He studied at the Brussels Cons. (1928–37). He was an organist in France and Belgium (1923–29; 1940–48), a prof. at the Liège Cons. (1947–66), and director of the French Section of the Brussels Cons. (1966–73). In 1961 he married Jacqueline Fontyn.
