Szalowski, Antoni
Szalowski, Antoni Polish-born French composer; b. Warsaw, April 21, 1907; d. Paris, March 21, 1973. He studied composition (with K. Sikorski) and piano and conducting at the Warsaw Cons., graduating in 1930; continued his studies with Boulanger in Paris (1931-36), where he then lived until his death, becoming a naturalized French citizen in 1968. His finely crafted works follow in the neo-Classical tradition with a diverting infusion of French elegance.
