Tarp, Svend Erik
Tarp, Svend Erik, Danish composer; b. Thisted, Jutland, Aug. 6, 1908; d. Copenhagen, Oct. 19, 1994. He studied theory with Jeppesen and music history with Simonson at the Copenhagen Cons. (1929-31), then was on its faculty (1936-42). He concurrently lectured at the Univ. of Copenhagen (1939-47) and the Royal Theater Opera School (1936-40), and subsequently was an administrator with Edition Dania (1941-60).
