Thalben-Ball, (Sir) George (Thomas) (b Sydney, NSW, 1896; d Wimbledon, 1987). Australian-born organist and composer. Settled in Eng. Org., Temple Church, London, 1923–81, City of Birmingham, 1949. Mus. adviser to BBC religious broadcasting dept. 1941–69, and cond. BBC Singers. CBE 1967. Knighted 1982.
