Thiriet, Maurice

Thiriet, Maurice, French composer; b. Meulan, May 2, 1906; d. Puys, near Dieppe, Sept. 28, 1972. He began his training at the Paris Cons, with Charles Silver, and later studied with Koechlin (counterpoint and fugue) and Roland-Manuel (composition and orchestration). He was a composer of much dramatic music.
