Vered, liana, Israeli pianist; b. Tel Aviv, Dec. 6,1939. Her mother was a concert pianist and her father was a violinist, and she took piano lessons as a child with her mother. At 13, won an Israeli government grant to continue her studies at the Paris Cons., and subsequently took lessons with Rosina Lhévinne and Nadia Reisenberg at the Juilliard School of Music in N.Y. In 1969 she received a grant from the Martha Baird Rockefeller Foundation for a major tour of Europe; subsequently made regular tours there and in the U.S.
