Yonge (also Young, Younge), Nicholas
Yonge (also Young, Younge), Nicholas, English singer and music editor; b. Lewes; d. London (buried), Oct. 23, 1619. He was a chorister at St. Paul’s Cathedral. He translated and arranged a number of Italian madrigals, which he publ. in 2 books under the general title Musica transalpina (1588, 1597).
