SIDELIGHTS:
After a career in publishing and public relations in New York, NY, Margaret Carroll turned her writing talents to fiction. Her debut novel, The Write Match, described by Roundtable Reviews contributor Tracy Fransworth as "engaging from the first page," features protagonist Kit McCabe, a writer for a weddings magazine. Her current assignment is covering the winners of a wedding contest who are receiving an all-expenses-paid event arranged by noted wedding consultant Ethel Van Winterden. On the first day of Kit's assignment, she shares a cab with a man with whom she experiences an instant reciprocal attraction, only to discover when they arrive at the same destination that Mark Dawson is the groom. Mark's bride-to-be is a model who is using the wedding publicity to forward her own career. Kit can do no more than wish that she could replace her, because pursuing Mark could have a negative effect on her own career. Maria Hatton reviewed the romance for Booklist, writing: "Cute and funny, this timely tale touches the romantic streak in us all."
