SIDELIGHTS: After finishing her studies at Drew University in New Jersey, Nicola Hoggard Creegan lectured at a Methodist university in North Carolina. Her research interests include the interface between science and theology, feminist theology, the theology of healing, human freedom, and issues in postmodernism and narrative theology. In keeping with her theological studies background, she wrote Living on the Boundaries: Evangelical Women, Feminism, and the Theological Academy with ethicist Christine D. Pohl. The focus of the book is the intersection of evangelical religion, feminism, and academic life. Commenting on the scarcity of publications with similar topics, Graham Christian, writing in Library Journal, called the book "groundbreaking and crucial." Reviewing Living on the Boundaries on the Christians for Biblical Equality Web site, Mary Stewart Van Leeuwen praised the book, describing it as "empirically and theoretically grounded … astute, timely, and compassionate."
