SIDELIGHTS:

Dee Davis dreamed of becoming a writer from a young age, drifting off into her own imaginary worlds at the worst times—from sitting at her desk at school to driving past her exit on the freeway. However, she took a more practical approach to life, studying political science, history, and public administration, and taking a job working in public relations that enabled her to write as well as work the public-speaking circuit. In addition, Davis married and lived in Vienna for several years, all of which provided grist for the mill. When she finally determined to do something about her dreams, she began writing romance novels. Her first published book, Everything in Its Time, was released in July, 2000, and was well received. It won the Booksellers' Best Paranormal Romance of the Year award, and was also honored as a Holt Medallion finalist, a Texas Bronze winner for best historical, and a Dorothy Parker Award honorable mention for best debut novel. Other books by Davis have been nominated for or won additional awards, and garnered favorable reviews.

Eye of the Storm tells the story of Simone Sheridan, a former CIA ops agent who finds her past coming to haunt her just as she thinks she is getting her life back under control. Booklist reviewer Mary K. Chelton praised the book, remarking that the "ending is as inevitable as surprising in this one-sitting read." In A Match Made on Madison Davis looks at the high-powered business of modern-day matchmaking. Heroine Vanessa Carlton looks at matchmaking as more of an arrangement, where love is just a bonus, and so she accepts her former mentor's challenge to see which of them will be first to match up rich and powerful playboy Mark Grayson. Grayson, of course, turns his attentions on Vanessa, though not for her ability to find him a wife. A Publishers Weekly reviewer objected to the "obligatory designer name-dropping, but it's her heroine's exalted venue-hopping that's the source of much fun." Maria Hatton commented in Booklist that Davis's effort "takes readers on an enjoyable adventure as we root for Vanessa."
