SIDELIGHTS:
Ellae Elinwood has spent many years as a hatha yoga instructor teaching privately as well as at colleges, universities, and fitness spas. She pioneered a yoga program specifically designed for elderly men and women, and has been a teacher of Japanese shiatsu massage, Touch for Health, applied kinesiology, and stress management. Elinwood draws upon these varied experiences as well as her years of study in authoring several instructional books on caring for both the body and the mind.
Elinwood developed a comprehensive facial toning program called Timeless Face after years of study in yoga and Chinese face reading. The daily program, which consists of a series of exercises that can be performed in only five minutes, is outlined in Timeless Face: Thirty Days to a Younger You through Face Reading, Acupressure, and Toning. On her Web site, Elinwood claimed: "If the eyes are the window to the soul then the face is the expression of a lifetime."
Timeless Face was followed by Elinwood's second book, The Everything Numerology Book: Discover Your Potential for Love, Success, and Health through the Science of Numbers. The book, coauthored by Gregge Tiffen, is a guide to help readers tap into the "science" of numbers to improve many aspects of their personal and professional life.
Drawing upon her experience as a student and teacher of Chinese wisdom and martial arts, Elinwood has also authored The Everything Tai Chi and Qi Gong Book: Enjoy Good Health, Longevity, and a Stress-free Life. Describing the book as an introductory source to these arts, Anton Borja stated in a review for Acupuncture.com that The Everything Tai Chi and Qi Gong Book "surprisingly has quite a lot to offer to upper level students as well." The reviewer added that "if there is a problem with this book it would have to be the lack of pictures dedicated to the practices," but concluded: "you are certain to get valuable tips to better your practice every time you open it."
