SIDELIGHTS: Tracy Grant wrote many of her early romance novels with her mother, the late writer Joan Grant, under the joint pseudonyms Anthea Malcolm and Anna Grant. One of the more recent Regencies she has published under her own name is Rightfully His. Kristin Ramsdell, who reviewed the novel in Library Journal, wrote that Grant's "works are noted especially for their historical accuracy and attention to detail."

With Daughter of the Game Grant offers fans an historical thriller set in pre-Victorian England. Charles Frasier, a nobleman and member of British Parliament, met his wife, the half-French, half-Spanish Melanie, during the French occupation of Spain while he and his expedition sought a ring that was ultimately lost in an altercation. Melanie told him that she had been raped and her family murdered, and Charles rescued her and took her to England, where she gave birth to the son he has raised as his own. Now the child, Colin, has been abducted by a Spanish antiroyalist who holds the young man for ransom, thinking that the ring is in the possession of the Frasiers. As the plot unfolds, Melanie reveals that, in fact, she had not been a victimized noblewoman; she is actually a spy, and Colin was actually the son of Raoul O'Roarke, her French spymaster. They do not have the ring, but they suspect that it might be in the possession of Helen Trevennen, an aspiring actress. In order to save both Colin and their marriage, the couple suffer injury in their search for the missing Carevalo Ring.

Library Journal reviewer Kathy Piehl wrote that "Grant masterfully weaves personal and political deceptions into a taut fabric of historical intrigue." All about Romance contributor Colleen McMahon further commented, "That Tracy Grant makes this situation as truly dark as it is, and brings her characters back from the brink of this precipice in a believable way, is enough to make Daughter of the Game a standout on any romance reader's bookshelf."

Beneath a Silent Moon is a prequel to Daughter of the Game and begins with Charles and Melanie returning to England after the war. The year is 1817, and Napoleon has been defeated. At a party they attend the announcement is made of an engagement between Charles's widower father, Kenneth, to Honoria Talbot, niece of the marquis of Glenister. This bit of news is shocking to Charles, who has a history with the woman. Even more disturbing is the fact that, before he dies, old friend Francisco Doro, a former British spy like Charles, reveals that Honoria has a connection to the Elsinore League, a group about which little is known. Best Reviews contributor Rashmi Srinivas wrote that "Grant has created a spectacular mystery within a mystery in this wonderful book."
