SIDELIGHTS:
S.S. Hanna told CA: "In my two books published by university presses, I tried to exhibit a sense of joy in writing. My first book tells the story of a gypsy scholar who teaches English, coaches football, and works at the writer's craft. My second book deals with an unknown author, writing about a little-known college having a losing season in a minor sport. I coached small-college football and women's soccer, and I enjoyed both experiences. I hope that joy comes through in the two books I have written."
