SIDELIGHTS: Denise Tsang told CA: "Life is a journey of constant learning and discovery. Curiosity drives my acquisition of knowledge, and writing allows me to share my ideas with this world. Most importantly, it also enables me to enrich the academic community that has taught me so much. Indeed my interests in writing were first inspired by members of the academic community (especially my former Ph.D. supervisors).

"The main feature that underlies my writing, from the conception of ideas to the process of final proofreading, is conscientiousness. It enables me to submerge myself in an enjoyable and interesting activity, and it also gives me the courage to carry on when I face major obstructions. Life is too short, and I know I will stop writing if I stop being dedicated to my research area. However, the good news is I enjoy it."
