aztreonam
aztreonam (az-tree-ŏ-nam) n. an antibiotic administered by injection that is used to treat infections caused by Gram-negative organisms (see Gram's stain). It is especially useful for treating lung infections in children with cystic fibrosis. Trade name: Azactam.
