paracetamol (acetaminophen) (pa-ră-see-tă-mol) n. an analgesic drug that also reduces fever. It is taken by mouth to relieve mild or moderate pain, such as headache, toothache, dysmenorrhoea, and rheumatic pain, and to treat colds and influenza. Overdosage causes liver damage. Trade names: Calpol, Disprol, Panadol, Panaleve.
