Josephson junction
Josephson junction A junction between two metals that exhibits controllable electron tunneling properties at cryogenic temperatures. First reported by Brian Josephson in 1962, it is a superconducting device that can act as an extremely fast electronic switch with very low power dissipation. See Josephson technology.
