subnotebook
subnotebook A computer that is smaller than a notebook but larger than a palmtop or personal digital assistant. A full-size keyboard cannot be accommodated but a certain amount of typing is possible, and lack of mechanical disk drives coupled with a monochrome LCD screen and components with low power consumption lead to considerable battery life and low weight. The advent of the PCMCIA accessory slots have added to the flexibility of such computers.
