Button, Stephen Decatur
Button, Stephen Decatur (1813–97). Connecticut-born American architect known for his work in Philadelphia, PA, and Camden, NJ. His State Capitol, Montgomery, AL (1847), and Pennsylvania Railroad Building (1856–8) no longer exist. He designed many houses in and around Hoboken, NJ, the Spring Garden Lutheran Church, Philadelphia (c.1859), and the City Hall, Camden (1874–5).
