Desprez, Jean-Louis
Desprez, Jean-Louis (1743–1804). French architect, illustrator, and stage-designer. He settled in Sweden in 1784 and produced severe Neo-Classical and Egyptianizing designs for tombs. His buildings include the Uppsala Botanicum (1788), with its low octastyle Greek Doric portico, and Egyptianesque capitals.
