Dietterlin, Wendel
Dietterlin, Wendel (1551–99). German Renaissance architect. His fame rests on his Architectura und Ausztheilung/Symmetria und Proportion der Fünff Seulen (Architecture and Divisional Arrangement/Symmetry and Proportion of the Five Columns—1593–4), an exotic collection of plates showing architectural features derived from Flemish Mannerist details with strapwork and fantastic ornament, called Ditterling.
