Frisoni, Donato Giuseppe (1683–1735). North-Italian architect. He worked in Germany, where he laid out Ludwigsburg, Württemberg (1715–35), with its regular streets and gardens. He remodelled the Ducal Palace (Schloss Ludwigsburg— 1714–35) carefully integrating it with the planned town, having taken over from the previous architect, Johann Friedrich Nette (1672–1714). He also designed the Favorite Banqueting Hall at Ludwigsburg (from 1718). He designed the façade, gable, dome, upper storeys of the towers, and some altars of the great Benedictine Abbey of Weingarten (1715–24), decisively shaping it to its present form.
