Helpeston, William de

Helpeston, William de (fl. 1319–75). English mason. He worked at Caernarfon Castle, Wales (1319–20), and built 12 chapels at the east end of Vale Royal Abbey, Delamere, Ches., from 1359, the plans of which were similar to aspects of Toledo Cathedral, Spain. Helpeston was also in charge of the walls at Chester.
