Reidy, Affonso Eduardo (1909–64). Brazilian Paris-born architect. A disciple of Warchavchik and Le Corbusier, he worked with others on the Ministry of Health and Education Building, Rio de Janeiro (1936–49). In 1947 he was appointed to the Department of Public Housing, and designed Pedregulho, a large low-income housing project in Rio de Janeiro (1947–52), followed by the similar residential project at Gávea, also in Rio (1950–2). His best-known work is the Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro (1954–60), a variation on Le Corbusier's 1937 design for the Pavillon des Temps Nouveau.
