Wallot, Paul
Wallot, Paul (1841–1912). German architect. A pupil of Martin Gropius, he began his career by designing numerous houses in Frankfurt-am-Main, but made his name with the Reichstag (Imperial Parliament Building), Berlin 1884–94—gutted 1933, reconstructed with major modifications c.1975–99), which he followed with the Ständehaus (later Landtag—Building for the Saxon Parliament), Dresden (1901–7), and a house at the artists' colony, Darmstadt (c.1901).
