American Floral Endowment Scholarships

(Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To further the advancement of education and science in the floriculture and environmental horticulture field by funding research and studies and financing scholarships and other educational activities for individuals interested in the field. Focus: Horticulture. Qualif.: Applicants must be pursuing a career in a horticulture-related field; must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA; must be residents of the United

States or Canada. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance.

Ball Horticultural Company Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To further the advancement of education and science in the floriculture and environmental horticulture field by funding research and studies and financing scholarships and other educational activities for individuals interested in the field. Focus: Horticulture. Qualif.: Applicants must be students currently enrolled in their third to fifth year of college; must be pursuing a career in commercial floriculture. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance.

Vic and Margaret Ball Student Intern Scholarships (Undergraduate/Internship)

Purpose: To further the advancement of education and science in the floriculture and environmental horticulture field by funding research and studies and financing scholarships and other educational activities for individuals interested in the field; to assure continuance of practical experience opportunities. Focus: Horticulture. Qualif.: Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a floriculture/environmental horticulture program at a two or four year college/university within the United States; must be U.S. citizens; must maintain “C” or better GPA with satisfactory progress in a degree or certificate program. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance, financial need and interest in a horticulture career.

Funds Avail.: varies. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed and signed application form, official transcript from all institutions attended, a statement explaining the reasons for applying and future career goals, a letter of recommendation and endorsement by a faculty member. Applicants must submit a 500 word report evaluating the experience within 30 days of completing the program; pictures of the student working at the intern location must be included. Applicants must have permission to interrupt studies for the length of the training period. Deadline: March 1 and October 1.

Harold Bettinger Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To further the advancement of education and science in the floriculture and environmental horticulture field by funding research and studies and financing scholarships and other educational activities for individuals interested in the field. Focus: Horticulture. Qualif.: Applicants must be sophomore or graduate students pursuing a career in business and/or marketing with the intent to apply it to a horticulture-related business. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance.

Mossmiller Student Intern Scholarships Program (Undergraduate/Internship)

Purpose: To provide quality professional training for selected, motivated floriculture and environmental horticulture students. Focus: Horticulture. Qualif.: Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a recognized floriculture/environmental horticulture or business program at a two or four year college or university in the U.S.; must maintain a “C” average with satisfactory progress in a degree or certificate program. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on outstanding potential and serious interest in a floral industry field.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit: completed and signed application form; official transcript from all institutions attended; a statement explaining the reasons for applying and future career goals; a letter of recommendation and endorsement by a faculty member.
