AHNS-ACS Career Development Awards (Professional Development/Grant)

Purpose: To support clinical, basic science or translational researches in neoplastic disease of the head and neck. Focus: Medical research. Qualif.: Applicants must be members of both ACS and AHNS. Criteria: Applicant who is within five years of completion of training, and is a full-time faculty member will receive the award.

Funds Avail.: $40,000. R Two years.

AHNS Pilot Research Grants (Professional Development/Grant)

Purpose: To support basic, translational or clinical researches in head and neck oncology. Focus: Medical research. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents, fellows or junior faculty for pilot research in head and neck related topics; must be a resident of U.S. or Canada, medical students, Ph.D.s or faculty members at the rank of associate professor or below. Criteria: Recipient is chosen based on reviewed quality of research project.

Funds Avail.: $10,000. Deadline: January 15.

AHNS Young Investigator Awards (Professional Development/Grant)

Purpose: To support clinical, basic science or translational research in the study of neoplastic disease of the head and neck. Focus: Medical research. Qualif.: Applicants must be AHNS member (may be a candidate member). Also open to fellows and assistant professors. Criteria: Priority is given to investigators with outstanding research.

Funds Avail.: $20,000 per year for up to two years. R Two years.

Ballantyne Resident Research Grants (Professional Development/Grant)

Purpose: To support basic, translational or clinical researches in head and neck oncology. Focus: Medical research. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents, fellows or junior faculty for pilot research in head and neck related topics; must be a resident of U.S. or Canada; must be medical students, Ph.D.s or faculty members at the rank of associate professor or below. Criteria: Recipient is chosen based on ability to meet mentioned criteria and potential of proposed research.

Funds Avail.: $10,000. Number Awarded: 1. Deadline: January 15.

Surgeon Scientist Career Development Awards (Professional Development/Grant)

Purpose: To support research in pathogenesis, pathophysi-ology, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of head and neck neoplastic disease. Focus: Medical research. Qualif.: Award is open to surgeons. Criteria: Recipient of the award must be a surgeon starting a clinician-scientist career track supporting research in pathogenesis, pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of head and neck neoplastic disease.

Funds Avail.: $35,000. Number Awarded: 1.
