Lilly Lorenzen Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To promote the study of Swedish heritage. Focus: Swedish studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be Min-
nesota residents and have knowledge of the Swedish language. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the applications and other submitted documents.
Funds Avail.: $2,500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a complete application form and a transcript or a statement of professional and community achievement. Deadline: May 1.
Remarks: Established in memory of Lilly Lorenzen, an instructor in Swedish University of Minnesota and the American Swedish Institute, and author of the book “Of Swedish Ways”.
Malmberg Fellowships (Undergraduate/Fellowship)
Purpose: To promote study at the American Swedish Institute. Focus: Swedish studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be students aged 21 years old and above; Sweden residents are also qualified. For organizational applicants, the project manager is identified as the applicant. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the submitted documents.
Funds Avail.: $4,000. To Apply: Applicant must send a study proposal. Deadline: November.
Malmberg Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance to individuals to study in Sweden. Focus: Swedish studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be U.S. citizens; enrolled in a degree-granting program in college/university; or in a study or research that requires or can be enhanced by study in Sweden; have knowledge in Swedish language. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the submitted applications.
Funds Avail.: $10,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit an application form and a letter of invitation or affiliation from the Swedish institution/organization; a project summary; transcript (optional if out of school for 3 years); resume; and two letters of recommendation. Deadline: November 15.
