Description:

State-supported, 4-year, coed. Part of State College System of West Virginia. Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1872. Setting: 100-acre rural campus. Endowment: $18.1 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $6180 per student. Total enrollment: 2,937. Faculty: 193 (99 full-time, 94 part-time). Community Environment:

Located in the mountains in a quiet rural area, this is an excellent atmosphere for students. The climate is moderate with cool summers. Local recreation includes good hunting and fishing. Pipestem State Park and Winterplace Ski Resort are located nearby.
