Council on Social Work Education Minority Fellowship Programs (Postdoctorate/Fellowship)
Purpose: To educate ethnic minority social work professionals to prepare them for leadership roles in mental health research and in the delivery of mental health services. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a doctoral program in a school of social work. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the academic standing and letters of recommendation.
Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit an application instruction sheet. All permanent residents must provide the following: photocopy of Permanent Resident Card signed by the notary public; official transcript of records; GRE and MAT scores; letter of admission; resume; financial list of information including the resources applied for, personal financial costs and anticipated income. Deadline: February 28.
Council on Social Work Education Scholars Program (Postdoctorate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide opportunities for senior and junior scholars to work on research projects or programmatic initiatives of their choosing that is in line with the priorities of CSWE. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Program is open to senior scholars, faculty members and junior scholars such as doctoral students or individuals recently completing their doctoral dissertation. Criteria: Selection is based on proposed research.

Carl A. Scott Book Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To promote equity and social justice in social work. Focus: General Studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be in the last year of study for a social work degree in a baccalaureate or master’s degree program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; must be African American, American Indian, Asian American, Mexican American or Puerto Rican; must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and must be enrolled in 12 credit hours. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the demonstrated commitment in promoting equity and social justice.
Funds Avail.: $500. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must submit a two-three page, double-spaced, typewritten statement that include professional interests, and experiences; two letters of recommendation preferably from a professor, a field instructor, or a community-based leader; an official letter from the school’s registrar verifying that you are enrolled and in good standing with the university or college; and an official academic transcript from university/college. Deadline: May 5.
