Ken and Pat Ackerman Family Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide scholarship for Danville Area High School seniors who have been accepted or will attend an accredited 4-year college, full-time. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have been a varsity wrestler and/or varsity football player and have the highest cumulative 4-year average in English. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Ruth D. Adams Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Montoursville Area High School seniors who are seeking higher education beyond graduation from high school (full-time) and who represent the top 10% GPA of graduating seniors. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants shall be approved for full-time admission to any accredited two or four-year college or university of their choice and be enrolled in a course of study of their choice which leads to a degree. Anne L. Alexander and Blaise Robert Alexander Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide scholarship for graduating seniors from Mount Carmel Area High School and Montoursville Area High School respectively, who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate, business or technical program at an accredited institution of higher education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have exhibited good citizenship and community involvement; must be a leader with a sense of humor; must be grounded; must show tolerance to others; must be honest; must have integrity; and must make a difference in the school community. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

B-Brave McMahon/Stratton Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for graduates who have been in the foster care system or have legal adopted status and who have shown remarkable achievement despite the obstacles in their life. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Lycoming County High School or Clinton County High School that has believed in herself/himself; must have been accepted into a full-time continuing education program, preferably in Pennsylvania; must have exhibited good citizenship and have no known drug or alcohol record or juvenile offenses; have an unmet financial need; and must show evidence that they have a current minimum GPA of 2.8. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Gina L. Barnhart Memorial Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Milton Area High school seniors planning to pursue a major in elementary education. Focus: Education, Elementary. Qualif.: Candidates must be seniors in good standing and members of the cheerleading squad; must have been accepted by a qualified institution of higher education and plan to major in elementary education. Applicants who are planning to major in secondary education may be considered if there are no candidates that are planning to major in elementary education. Preference will be given to applicants with educational and/or career objectives focused on working with children or community service. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Diane Booth Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide scholarship to the Danville Area High School seniors. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be accepted into a full-time undergraduate, associate or technical program in an institution of higher education; have exhibited good citizenship and community involvement; and a strong potential for success. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Purpose: To provide academic support for Danville Area High School seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited institution of higher education and who are entering a health-related field. Focus: Medicine; Nursing; Nutrition; Pharmacy; or Physical therapy. Qualif.: Applicants must be entering a health related field. Criteria: Selection is based on character, academic performance, career goals and participation in school and/or community activities.

Purpose: To support the education of current and/or aspiring Lycoming County medical professionals who plan to dedicate their lives to helping others. Focus: Medicine; Nursing; Pharmacy; Allied health. Qualif.: Applicants must be accepted into a full-time or part-time medical or any other related specialty at an accredited institution of higher education. Applicants should be residents of Lycoming County. Criteria: Selection will be based on merit.

Warren E. “Whitey” Cole American Society of Highway Engineers Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide scholarship awards for students enrolled in a Civil Engineering curriculum. Focus: Civil engineering. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled in a civil engineering, civil engineering technology or civil technology curriculum; have completed at least the sophomore year of a four-year curriculum or the freshman year of a two-year curriculum; be either enrolled at Pennsylvania State University, Bucknell University or Pennsylvania College of Technology or have residence in the counties of Bradford, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga or Union and attend another college. Danville Education Association Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Danville Area High School seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited institution of higher education, preferably in Pennsylvania. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have exhibited good citizenship and community involvement; must have unmet financial need; and must have not been the recipient of other major scholarship awards. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Danville High School Class of 1963 Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Danville Area High School seniors who have been accepted and will be

pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in an accredited institution of higher education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have exhibited good citizenship and community involvement. The recipients must have experience with community service and volunteering. Marian Jones Donaldson Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Canton Area High School seniors intending to pursue a course of study in elementary or secondary education. Focus: Education, Elementary; Education, Secondary. Qualif.: Applicants shall have a four-year overall minimum grade average of 85%. Criteria: Selection will be based on involvement in community service, extra-curricular activities, and financial need.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for the Jersey Shore High School seniors intending to pursue a course of study in elementary education, preferably with an emphasis on education of special-needs children. Qualif.: Candidates must plan to pursue a course of study in elementary education, preferably with an emphasis on education of special-needs children; must have exhibited good citizenship and community involvement; must be a leader with a sense of humor; must be grounded; must show tolerance to others; must be honest; must have integrity; and must make a difference in the school community. Daniel G. and Helen I. Fultz Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To encourage educational pursuits by providing scholarship for Indian Valley High School seniors. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Program is open to Indian Valley High School seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at Lycoming College, Williamsport, PA. If there are no applicants from Indian Valley High School, then applicants may be chosen from Lewistown High School in Mifflin County, again, who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate degree program at Lycoming College, Williamsport, PA. Applicants must have good citizenship and community involvement; be a leader with a sense of humor; be grounded; must show tolerance of others; be honest; have integrity; and make a difference in the school community. Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Lycoming County young adults who demonstrate the potential to succeed in pursuing higher education goals. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Candidates shall be young adults who, as a result of legal offenses as juveniles or young adults, have come to the attention of Lycoming County's Probation Department; must demonstrate a strong willingness to make positive changes in their lives and pursue educational and/or job training goals that will enable them to fulfill their human potential; and plan to attend a qualified institution of higher education, including but not limited to a 2- or 4-year college or university, a technical college, trade school, or other approved education or training program. Mollie Harter Memorial Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Danville Area High School seniors intending to pursue higher education goals, preferably in the field of secondary education. Focus: Education, Secondary. Qualif.: Applicants must be planning to pursue a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree from a qualified institution of higher education. Applicants' experience with community service and volunteering, as well as their interest in working with children and the potential to succeed in pursuing their goals may be considered. Preference will be given to applicants interested in a career in education, ideally secondary education, and then to other careers working with children. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Jane Hood Memorial Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Danville Area High School seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program. Focus: Visual arts; Mathematics and mathematical science; Science; Engineering. Qualif.: Applicants must be accepted in a full-time undergraduate program at an institution of higher education to study graphic-visual arts, math and/or science (including engineering). Applicants must have exhibited good citizenship and community involvement. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Qualif.: Applicant must be a high school senior within Lycoming county who will be attending an accredited institution of higher education and who plans to pursue major coursework in the area of international studies, including but not limited to international affairs, foreign languages, overseas exchange programs, multicultural studies, and related areas. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Danville Area High School seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited institution of higher education, preferably in Pennsylvania. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have exhibited good citizenship and community involvement; must be a leader with a sense of humor; must be grounded; must show tolerance of others; must be honest; must have

integrity and make a difference in the school community; and must have an unmet financial need. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Walter A. and Nan C. McCloskey Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Danville Area High School seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited institution of higher education, preferably in Pennsylvania. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have attained a Boys or Girls letter in basketball (or football or baseball in the event basketball is discontinued at Danville High School). The award recipient shall be a good school and community citizen in addition to his/her scholastic and athletic qualities. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Joseph and Catherine Missigman Memorial Nursing Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Bloomsburg University students who are pursuing a career in nursing. Focus: Nursing. Qualif.: Candidates must be Bloomsburg University students who have identified nursing as their major; must be completing their second or third year's curricula in the University's nursing education program; have a GPA of 2.5 or greater for all nursing coursework; and have a demonstrated financial need as determined by Bloomsburg University's methods and practices for assessing its student's financial capacities. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

To Apply: Candidates must have completed and filed an application for the scholarship and must include a one-page cover letter describing his/her rational for applying for the scholarship as well as his/her interest in the nursing field. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Candidate must be a graduating senior at Sullivan County High School and must demonstrate a strong potential to succeed in pursuing their higher education objectives. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Montgomery Area High School students intending to pursue higher education in finance, engineering, business or science. Focus: Finance; Engineering; Business; Science. Qualif.: Candidates must exhibit leadership qualities, academic excellence and a cooperative spirit. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Muncy Rotary Club Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Muncy High School seniors who have been accepted into a full-time continuing education program. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have exhibited community involvement. Other than a strong potential for success, such factors as class rank and GPA will not be criteria in making a selection unless, in the judgment of the Muncy Rotary Club Scholarship Committee, such factors are needed to distinguish between multiple potential candidates. Criteria: Financial need will be a considering factor.

Albert and Alice Nacinovich Music Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Lycoming County high school seniors graduating from public or private schools with a demonstrated interest in music who plan to attend a qualified institution of higher education in a

music-related field of study. Focus: Music. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from any Lycoming County high school, public or private (secular or Christian), or as part of a qualified home-schooling arrangement within Lycoming County; must have been accepted to a qualified institution of higher education with the intention of pursuing further education or a career in music in a degree-granting program in music education or a music-related field of study; and must have a demonstrated interest in music, which may include participation in band, chorus, music theory and composition, and performance service at school, church, or community. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants will be required to complete an application, provide copies of transcripts, and attach a 500-word of essay or less outlining his or her interest in music and how a scholarship award will help to advance his or her goals within a musical field or discipline. Rechsteiner Family Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Danville Area High School graduating seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at an institution of higher education to study education or science. Focus: Education; Science. Qualif.: Applicants must be students studying education or science and who maintain a GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale after the end of their freshman year and for the rest of their undergraduate education. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Dr. Wayne F. Rose Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Loyalsock High School seniors intending to attend a qualified institution of higher education in pursuit of a career in education who have a demonstrated interest in working with children and who exhibit an appreciation of the arts. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must demonstrate family

financial need; must demonstrate active involvement working or volunteering with children outside of their own school and typical class responsibilities; must demonstrate participation in the arts while in school and/or through extracurricular activities; and must be in good academic standing with potential for success. Purpose: To provide financial assistance for South William-sport Area High School seniors. Focus: Spanish studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at an institution of higher education (preferably in Pennsylvania) to study secondary education (preferably to teach Spanish) or to study Spanish in preparation for a career that would utilize the Spanish language. Applicants must have exhibited good citizenship and community involvement, must have unmet financial need and must not have been the recipient of other major scholarship awards. Purpose: To provide financial assistance for South Williamsport Area High School seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited institution of higher education, preferably in Pennsylvania. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have exhibited good citizenship and community involvement; have unmet financial need; and must not have been the recipient of other major scholarship awards. Criteria: Selection will be based on committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient remains in good standing at an accredited college or university but shall not exceed a maximum of 4 years. Applicant must submit an application to the Guidance Counselor's Office; must include a cover letter (not to exceed two pages) outlining why he or she is applying for the scholarship and summarizing his/her ultimate career objectives; must provide at least one letter of reference; and must provide proof that he or she has been accepted to a qualified two or four-year college/university. Purpose: To defray all or a portion of the costs of attending college or other undergraduate institutions of higher learning beyond the secondary level for Warrior Run High School seniors. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Candidate must maintain a GPA of 2.5. Candidate's financial needs shall

Margaret E. Waldron Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Muncy High School seniors who are pursuing higher education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Candidates must have completed grades 10, 11, 12 at Muncy High School and have graduated from academic courses at Muncy High School; must rank in upper 1/5 of the class during junior and senior years; must present letter of acceptance from a postsecondary institution of higher learning. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: $3,000 - freshman and sophomore years; $4,000 - junior and senior years. Focus: Physical therapy. Qualif.: Students must have resided in the Montoursville Area School District for a minimum of three years prior to graduation. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Williamsport High School Class of 1970 Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Williamsport Area High School seniors intending to attend a college, university, or vocational school that offers an at least two-year degree or certification program. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Candidates must be in need of financial assistance and shall not have received any other scholarship totaling more than $250. Preference is given to applicant who is not necessarily the most outstanding scholar nor the most sensational athlete; but rather, the student who has worked diligently to master his/her selection of academic courses, has earned the respect of his/her teachers and fellow students because he/she possesses unquestionable integrity and who consistently displays compassion or kindness to others. Williamsport-Lycoming Community Foundation - Benjamin Franklin Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide academic support for students who are attending Pennsylvania College and have graduated from Bradford County, Clinton County, Lycoming County, Potter County, Sullivan County or Tioga County. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled at the Pennsylvania College of Technology; must be enrolled in an approved Tech prep high school program and subsequently enroll in a Certificate, Associate or Bachelor's Degree program at the Pennsylvania College of Technology. In schools without approved Tech Prep programs, students must enroll in a high school vocational-technical program and subsequently enroll in a Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor's Degree program at the Pennsylvanian College of Technology. Applicants must have a GPA of “B” or higher and must be enrolled full-time. Preference will be given to continuing students in subsequent years if a cumulative GPA of 2.80 is maintained in the program. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Wendy Y. Wolfson Memorial Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship

Purpose: To provide scholarship for Montoursville Area High School seniors who will be attending Yale College. Focus: Music; Drama criticism. Qualif.: Students must be graduating seniors of Montoursville Area High School. If there are no graduating students planning to attend Yale College, graduating students with an outstanding academic record and a demonstrated talent in music or drama will be considered. Criteria: Selection will be based on academic merit and potential.
