Great Lakes Commission Sea Grant Fellowships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide fund to work and advance the environmental quality and sustainable economic development goals. Focus: Natural resources, Public health. Qualif.: Applicants must be a students who are in a graduate or professional degree program in public policy, public health, natural resources, aquatic sciences or other related field at a U.S accredited institution of higher education in the United States. Criteria: Selection team will evaluate each candidate by the criteria.

Funds Avail.: $41,000. To Apply: Applicant must complete the required documents; personal and academic resume or curriculum vitae (not exceed two pages); education and career goal statement (1,000 words or less); two letters of recommendation with at least one from the student's major professor, a letter of endorsement from the sponsoring sea grant director; a copy of undergraduate and graduate student transcripts. Must be sent to the Great Lakes Commission. Deadline: February 29. Contact: Tim Eder.

Carol A. Ratza Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To recognize outstanding achievement and vision in electronic communications technology. Focus: Electronics, Communications technologies. Qualif.: Applicant must be enrolled full-time at a college or university in the Great Lakes states or Canadian provinces; must have a career interest in electronic communication technologies; must have a demonstrated interest in the environmental or economic applications of electronic communications technology, exhibit academic excellence and have a sincere appreciation for the Great Lakes and their protection. Criteria: Selection of applicant will be based on their demonstrated interest in the environmental or economic applications of electronic communications technology, exhibit academic excellence and their a sincere appreciation for the Great Lakes and their protection.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Application must be submitted along with essay/original web page; resume; letter of intent; grade transcripts and two letters of recommendation. Deadline: March 31. Contact: Christine Man-ninen.
