Greater Philadelphia Law Library Association Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To fulfill the educational mission of GPLLA; to support the recruitment of law librarians to the profession as a whole and to GPLLA in particular. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be students interested in pursuing a career in law librarianship; must be students accepted and/or registered at an ALA-accredited library school (minimum of half-time status) who will continue as a student for another semester or quarter; must reside within the geographic area covered by GPLLA. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the genuine interest in the profession of law librarianship as a career evidenced by; personal statement, letters of recommendation, relevant work or internship experience, relevant course work, relevant volunteer work, relevant professional activity; must also demonstrate financial need.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a certified copy of the graduate library school transcript; must submit a completed application for the student scholarship; must submit a resume; two letters of recommendation from teachers and/or employers with application; must submit a personal statement that indicates a genuine interest in the profession of law librarianship with the application. Deadline: May 16.
