Helicopter Foundation International Commercial Helicopter Rating Scholarships (All/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist private helicopter pilot candidates who wish to obtain their commercial helicopter ratings. Focus: Aviation. Qualif.: Applicants must hold a current private helicopter pilot license. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: $4,000. Number Awarded: 4. To Apply:

Applicants must submit a clear copy of any and all FAA or international equivalent certificates; must submit a completed application form, current resume, proof of enrollment in helicopter training program at a qualified school, three current letters of recommendation from individual such as employers, flight instructors, HAI members or members of similar aviation organizations who can attest to candidate’s background, training and experiences as it relates to the helicopter industry and international applicants must provide proof of foreign citizenship. Deadline: July 15.

Helicopter Foundation International Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarships (Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist candidates who wish to obtain an A, P or A and A and P certificate. Focus: Aviation. Qualif.: Applicants must hold a current private helicopter pilot license. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: $2,500. Number Awarded: 6. To Apply:

Applicants must submit a completed HFI application for a Maintenance Technician Scholarship, current resume, proof of enrollment in helicopter training program at a qualified school, three current letters of recommendation from individual such as employers, flight instructors, HAI members or members of similar aviation organizations who can attest to candidate’s background, training and experiences as it relates to the helicopter industry and international applicants must provide proof of foreign citizenship. Deadline: June 27.

Michelle North Scholarships for Safety (Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist private helicopter pilot candidates who wish to obtain their commercial helicopter ratings. Focus: Aviation. Qualif.: Applicants must be employed in the

helicopter industry either in the Safety of Safety Management field, preparing to enter or if in a position other than the Safety Management field. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the demonstrated interest in the field of aviation.

Funds Avail.: $3,000. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply:

Applicants must submit a completed application form; must submit a current resume, summary of career plans, two letters of recommendation from employer or other helicopter professional; must submit a clear copy of any and all FAA or international equivalent certificates, a “350-500-word” summary statement attesting how candidate would benefit from the Safety Management course and how would use the knowledge gained to enhance safety at candidate’s organization. Deadline: July 15-October 1.

Bill Sanderson Aviation Maintenance Technician Scholarship (Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist private helicopter pilot candidates who wish to obtain their commercial helicopter ratings. Focus: Aviation. Qualif.: Applicant must be about to graduate from an FAA approved Part 147 AMT school or be a recent recipient within the last two years of an Airframe and Pow-erplant Certificate. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on demonstrated interest in the field of aviation.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. Number Awarded: 5.
