INF Scholarships(Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To champion the quality and future of Iowa's newspaper enterprises and the communities they serve. Focus: Journalism. Qualif.: Applicants must be Iowa college students preparing for a career in the newspaper industry. High school seniors and students currently enrolled at a college or university are encouraged to apply. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic records, financial need, demonstrated talent and desire to work for an Iowa newspaper.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicant s must attach two letters of reference including one from a teacher or guidance counselor; must attach a one-page statement about self, educational and career goals; two samples of writing or other examples of works which attest to the applicant's abilities. Samples should be printed on or affixed to 8.5 “x 11” sheets of white copy paper. Contact: [email protected].

Iowa Journalism Institute Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To champion the quality and future of Iowa's newspaper enterprises and the communities they serve. Focus: Journalism; Communication. Qualif.: Applicants

must be students studying journalism, communications, mass communications, photojournalism, graphic design, marketing or public relations at a college or university in Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic records, financial need, demonstrated talent and desire to work for an Iowa newspaper.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must attach two letters of reference including one from a teacher or guidance counselor; must attach a one-page statement about self, educational and career goals; two samples of writings or other examples of work which attest to the abilities of applicants in their intended career field.
