James B. Morris Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide assistance, motivation, and internship opportunities for minority students pursuing post-secondary and graduate degrees. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Program is open to individuals of minority ethnic status as

defined by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission who have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Eligible applicants may be: Iowa high school graduates and residents of Iowa who are attending any U.S. college or university; or non-Iowa residents who are attending Iowa colleges or universities. Criteria: Applicants will be selected based on financial need and selection criteria.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a copy of official high school transcripts (for graduating high school seniors only), official college transcript (most recent semester only); must provide one or more letters of references (at least one must be from an instructor); must provide a writing sample (an essay about the applicant and why they are applying for the scholarship); must complete the application form available online and must have a recent photograph (head and shoulder shot only).
