Childbirth Educator Program Scholarships (Other/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support to cover the cost of enrolling in a Lamaze Accredited Childbirth Educator Program. Focus: Motherhood. Qualif.: Applicants must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a Lamaze Childbirth Educator Program; current members of Lamaze International, in good standing; in need of financial assistance. Criteria: Scholarship recipients are selected by lottery from a pool of applications that meet the eligibility requirements.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed Childbirth Educator Program Scholarship application and must include the following information in the statement: Circumstances of need, e.g., employment or self-employment status and anticipated gross yearly income (spouse information needed if they file a joint tax return or the equivalent); special medical, educational or unemployment related circumstances (including disabilities and worker's compensation claims), include number of dependents, students they support in college, and special needs family members; other sources of income (savings, bonds stocks, scholarships, etc); and how they will finance the remaining fees, lodging, travel, meals and away-from-home expenses, if they receive a scholarship; letter describing how they plan to promote the Lamaze International Philosophy of Birth.
